I finally broke down and got a mesh body. BEST DECISION EVER. I love the way it photographs, and I am able to modify it to fit most, if not all, my other clothing. This dress is the first one I bought and styled for it though. I had not heard of Hilary Haalan until just the other day. I am in no way disappointed by this dress which seems to be made more specifically for mesh bodies. I decided to pair it with the new hairstyle from Magicka since it has a shorter look and shows it off better.
I looked at a lot of mesh bodies and tried on the demos. In the end, I went with
Maitreya's "Lara" for several reasons:
A. My favorite skin "Qopi" by
Izzie's has appliers for it. She does have appliers for many other mesh bodies and heads as well. The
Omega system is a must have for getting the most out of appliers.
B. The body is a little less "thick" and more like a model type body. The shape of course can be modified.
C. I love
Maitreya, what can I say?
It took a little getting used to and my main advice if you buy one is to carefully look through the HUD. Some demo clothing will automatically apply alpha to the mesh to the Lara body and you will have to go to the body HUD to clear the alpha. Also make sure that you have your "Objects" settings set to high in the Graphics section of Preferences or the body will probably look disjointed and not as smooth as it should. Also be sure you have "Atmospheric Shaders" and "Hardware Skinning" checked if you are using the Low setting.
